Assessment should create understanding, not simply produce a label.Alix Daykin — Educational Consultant & Specialist Assessor
Understand the learner behind the results.
Rather than looking at academic attainment in isolation, I explore how your child processes, remembers, understands and works with information — and how that relates to their reading, writing and mathematics.
The most important person in the assessment is the child themselves.
After every assessment I create a personalised, age-appropriate summary that explains what we explored, what we discovered and — most importantly — what they do well. Findings are shared in positive, child-friendly language, so a young person understands their learning profile without feeling defined by a diagnosis.
ADHD is more than attention. Understanding changes everything.
Executive Function difficulties affect organisation, motivation, emotional regulation, working memory, time management, task initiation and independence. A diagnosis should be the beginning of support — not the end of the process.
ADHD & EF Parent Coaching
One-to-one coaching to help you understand what is driving the behaviour, adjust expectations and build practical strategies that help your child become more capable and independent.
Calm & Connected
A structured seven-week programme for parents. Reducing conflict, setting boundaries that hold, managing stress and rebuilding connection at home — including the homework battles. No diagnosis needed.
Executive Function Coaching
Coaching for teenagers and college students to understand their own brains and build the practical skills they need for school, university, work and independent life.
This part of my work is professional, but it is also deeply personal.
I have ADHD myself and am the parent of two sons with ADHD. Long before I understood ADHD and Executive Function as I do today, my own family experienced the consequences of these differences being misunderstood — difficult school experiences, exclusions, family stress. Eventually my son left mainstream education at 14 and I homeschooled him through his iGCSEs.
I often think how different it could have been if we had understood then what I know now. That experience shapes how I work with families today. I know what it feels like to be both the professional sitting at the table and the parent sitting on the other side of it.
