For schools
Practical SEND expertise for your whole school community.
After more than 25 years inside schools, I understand that successful SEND provision cannot rely on theory alone. Strategies have to work in real classrooms, with real children and busy teachers. I work with schools across Kenya and East Africa on consultancy, professional development, parent education and specialist assessment.
Teacher Professional Development
Practical, evidence-informed training your staff can use on Monday morning.
Training topics
- Supporting Neurodiversity in the Classroom
- ADHD & Executive Function
- Understanding Behaviour
- Dyslexia & Literacy
- Inclusive Classroom Practice
- Recognising SEND
- Communicating Concerns with Parents
Bespoke workshops and professional development can also be designed around the particular SEND and inclusion needs of your school community.
SEND Consultancy
Reviewing and strengthening your Learning Support provision.
Helping schools review their Learning Support provision, identify needs across the cohort and develop practical inclusive approaches that work within your existing staffing and structures.
Having led and worked in Learning Support and SEND departments in three British IAPS prep schools in Kenya, I understand this work from the inside — as a teacher, a SENCo, an assessor and a consultant.
Parent Education
Workshops delivered in school, for your parent body.
- ADHD & Executive Function for Parents — the impact on learning, motivation, behaviour, emotional development and family life
- Beat the Homework Battles — reducing conflict while building motivation, responsibility and independence
- Calm & Connected — the seven-week parent coaching programme, run for your school community
Assessment Services for Schools
Refer students directly for specialist assessment.
Schools can refer students directly for cognitive and educational assessment or Exam Access Arrangements assessment. I liaise with your SEN or Learning Support department so that findings are understood in the context of the student’s day-to-day provision, and I am happy to attend feedback meetings with staff and parents.
Short-Term Specialist Teaching & Cover
Maternity, SEND and primary cover.
Experienced short-term cover for Learning Support, SEND and primary roles — including maternity cover and periods of short staffing.
Prices are shown in US dollars, payable in dollars or the Kenya shilling equivalent. I offer a range of prices depending on individual family circumstances — if cost is a barrier, please do just ask. It will not be an awkward conversation.
One of the most important lessons from my career is that children do better when the adults around them work together. I work alongside students, parents, teachers, SEN departments and other professionals to build a shared understanding of the learner. No one professional has every answer — the best outcomes happen when we build the right team around the individual.
